BOOKS&MAGAZINES, ENJOY

Harry Potter Illustrated Editions by Jim Kay

In this house we are huge fans of Harry Potter.

I discovered the books when I was already at University. They were a Christmas present for my little brother and I completely fell in love with the story, the characters and the magic.

My son discovered Harry at school. Of course, I have talked about him before at home, but I was waiting until he would have an age to read it by himself. He is just 7, and although he knows already how to read, I thought that Harry Potter was still too much for him .

But it is not. Every night, we sit down together before going to bed and read some pages of the story. He has plenty of questions and sometimes we read the same page several times, but he is completely engaged by what it is going on and wants to know more, to read more.

We have started to watch the movies, but it is not the same.

They cut too many things, every section of the story is shorter and you cannot always follow wat it is going on if you have not read it before.

My son, Pol, suggested to find something with illustrations. Something that had the complete story, but he could explore at the same time. We have found it and WE LOVE IT!

Bloomsbury has published a special edition of some of Harry Potter’s books illustrated by Illustrator Jim Kay.

The illustrations are amazing, they really bring you to Harry’s world without missing or adjusting part of the story. And although the films are great, the drawings do not follow the imaginary of the films, but the descriptions given by the book.

Until now they have only published 3 books of the full saga, but we are already waiting for the rest.

You can have a sneak peak of the books in the following links: Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,  Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets ,  and the last book published last October: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
