Kinder und Familien Zentrum by VON M
German architecture office VON M, has recently built a new extension to an existing residential building in Germany. The new 1.425 m2 kindergarten building is located on one side of an old farm house that has been also converted to create the Kinder und Familien Zentrum.
The new building volume has been split into five segments, each with its own roof, to reflect the scale of the adjacent farmhouses. It is intentionally completely different to the old one. It features clear structures, spacious light-filled rooms and bright varnished three-layer panels made of spruce creating friendly and generous atmosphere.
The new building clearly speaks its own contemporary language, but also proportionally takes materiality motifs from the environment
All the furniture elements are specially designed for this building, in a child-size proportions to be easily transported by little users to fit in each space in the kindergarten.
This great new example of architecture for kids it is located in the Poppenweiler district of the German city of Ludwigsburg. More info at VON M website.
