SARIT SHANI HAY’s new works
I see myself as an Eternal Child, I believe that the environment children grow up in is the soil on which their sensibilities develop, and that childhood should be celebrated! She is Sarit Shani Hay. And we love her work!
Sarit Shani Hay is an artist and designer from Israel. Her work is layered, ranging from object making to the creation of spaces and environments. She loves to reformulate thing, creating an aesthetic world around her. Sarit believes that art is a type of longing, a never-ending attempt to reconstruct and revive, a yearning for an unattainable world.
Sarit spent several years abroad: she lived in New York, London and Africa. After having received her post-graduate diploma from London’s prestigious College of Art and Design she returned to Israel and launched her own design studio in Tel Aviv, specializing in the design of pedagogical environments for children.
She created enchanted Kindergartens, always trying to see the world with the eyes of a child, thinking of children’s needs and desires. Her daughter’s birth were a type of artistic rebirth for her as well, as Sarit believes that the environment children grow up in, is the soil in which their sensibilities develop.
Today we want to share two “in progress” projects. There is no much info about them, only a few photos. But we love what we see!
First three photos are from the interior design project of 6 kindergartens and 3 day care centers. A 2000sqm project in Hindi, Tel Aviv.
The other photos are from a new Swiss Alps inspired kindergarten in New York. It contains 4 classes for different age groups, each one designed with a different theme.
We will have to wait until these projects are finished…
Meanwhile, we can visit his great site.
