Aryanto’s real-life Minecraft animals
What if real life animals looked more like the cubic creations in the game Minecraft? Aditya Aryanto knows it.
Aditya Aryanto is a Jakarta-based designer and retoucher. The wildly popular computer game called Minecraft, in which players build things out of textured cubes in an ever-expanding 3D world, inspired him. And he started to create his personal animal universe.
The result is a totally absurd series of retouched photographs titled Minecraft in Real Life (also known as “Anicube”). Aryanto snagged several royalty-free images and Photoshopped them into the familiar cubic beings.
The result is this absolutely fascinating world.
If you’re familiar with Photoshop, creating these images it’s easier than you might think. He used the Liquify feature on the program to stretch and compact the previously-soft forms into rigid anicubes.
You can see more from the series on Behance. Then you will start imagining an incredible cubic world. I do.
